Thrills by Day and Fright by Night
Mark your calendar for your favorite frightful time as the area's largest Halloween celebration returns for another season. Treat your family to terrific, terrifying fun, weekends September 29 - October 28. The Great Escape offers family-friendly Halloween thrills during the day, but after 5:00 p.m., the ghouls come out to play. The park transforms into a fright-filled environment with walk-through attractions, scary show and thrill rides that become even more terrifying in the dark.

NEW! Fester’s Fun-A-Rama Magic Show – Sit back and relax while you watch this comedy magic show, featuring everyone's favorite spooky kooky Uncle Fester. But don’t get too comfortable, as this maniacal magic show requires plenty of audience participation. Fester is also assisted throughout the show by his good friend Thing, the bodiless hand. Thing pops up in the most unusual places to provide Fester with a helping hand in his magic.
Monster Mash – Get ready to meet all of your favorite kid-friendly Halloween monsters! Dracula, Frank N' Stein, Jack the Werewolf and more will lead the way while you get your ghoulish groove on to the classic Halloween hits that you know and love. Be sure to stick around after the show for fun photo opportunities with the makers of Halloween.
Scream Contest – We hear them every day and we know they're out there! Kids 12 and under can put those pipes to the test by competing to see who will be crowned this year’s sultan of screams. We’re looking for the best ear piercing scream for a chance to win awesome prizes. This contest is available for all kids 12 years old and under, at the Jolly Tree Theater.
Costume Contest – Little monsters can strut their stuff & show off their cool costumes for the chance to win great prizes daily. The costume contest is open to all kids 12 and under at 3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday on the Jolly Tree Theater. The costume contest immediately follows the Scream Contest and is free to all guests, 12 and under.
Trick or Treat Trail – Kids 12 and under are invited to visit the Old Woman’s Shoe to receive their Trick-or-Treat bag and start the hunt for Halloween treats through the little houses in Buckaroo Junction.
Fright by Night
If that's not enough frightful fun for you, stick around for Frights by Night and once that clock strikes 5:00 p.m. watch the Park completely transform into fright-filled terror park with haunted attractions, frightening shows, and spine-chilling thrill rides.
NEW! CarnEvil – Check out this new haunt in Northwood’s Picnic Grove, where the circus came to town and the clowns are not what you remember as a kid.
Dead Man’s Party – At Dr. Fright’s friendly neighborhood costume party, you will start to realize that things aren’t always what they seem, as you begin to wonder if the zombies and ghosts may actually be real.
Ghost Town: Dead in the West – The dead will not stay dead for long in this western wasteland.
Nightmare at CrackAxle Canyon – The only thing that could make this destroyed farmland worse just became a reality in Ghost Town.
NEW! Sinister Storytown – Don't let Malice or any of her ferocious fairy tale friends find you in Fest Area.
Skull Manor – Dying to go in? You may never come out of The Great Escape’s classic haunted house in Northwood’s Picnic Grove.
NEW! Taste of Darkness – Watch Uncle Fester and Morticia in a collection of mind-boggling illusions and dangerous feats at the Jolly Tree Theater.
The Awakening – Once the clock strikes 5 p.m., things begin to take a turn for the worse, starting at the Storytown Stage.
The Cursed Cowboy – Dine with the dead as Charley’s Saloon gets a creepy twist for Fright Fest, The Cursed Cowboy will have your bones shaking you enjoy mouth-watering haunt inspired foods and specialty drinks.
NEW! Undead Alley – Don’t let the black lights blind you as you stumble your way through this all-new haunt in Ghost Town.
NEW! Witching Hour – All of the frightful freaks of Fright Fest gather in Carousel Plaza before park close to make sure that you don’t make it out alive.
Zambora – Found deep in the Amazon, Zambora displayed tremendous power, transforming herself into a gruesome gorilla. She was taken captive and is now held in Ghost Town for all to see.
Zombie Bash – Watch from the sidelines as bloodthirsty zombies put on a show that you’ll never forget in Ghost Town.
